Gee mon, its "Vindy"

As I went to get a cup of coffee this morning, I noticed that the wind was really blowing. While drinking my coffee, I noticed that CNN made mention of our "storm" on their newscast. The first thing that popped into my mind was my dad and how he would describe the weather. In his fantastic accent, he would claim "Gee mon, its vindy". I have always found it interesting how he has combined a taste of Jamaica with his Norwegian English! He is an amazing man!!

Monday is the new Friday

Whats the deal with Monday? This day seems to be the most challenging of all the days of the week. Odd isnt it? I mean here we are (most of us) fresh from two days of "self directed" activity. Mathematically, some would think that this would be an equation for energy...but it isnt. I find that on Mondays, I generally have a short temperament, which is not necessarily a good thing considering I interact with nearly 200 people on these days. So I have figured out a solution. At 5:30 am on Monday as I am preparing for my day, tell myself it is Friday.

Søndag kjære Søndag

I woke up this morning...rushed....thinking I had 15 minutes to get out the door (forgetting about the hour change) and meet some friends for Sunday fellowship.....more specifically football with my friends and their wives. This is a fun way to stretch the legs, get the ingredients of the weekend out of your system, and be reminded that all of these friends will go home to peaceful afternoons with their spouces where they will maybe have a little dinner, or snuggle on the couch....possibly an argument...but none-the-less they will be with eachother. Nice huh. Seriously, the time is drawing near for this old cowboy to head back to the ranch. It is fun to take the open range on your own...for a while.

November...Are you ready!!!!

Up and running

I received an email a day or so ago, asking for an update on which friends had blogs. Me, being quite possibly the opposite of "technological" sort of smugged at the idea. 15 minutes later I had created an account at a Christian Blog (sickeningly super-chrish) and was enjoying seeing people post replys to some theological things I had been thinking about. So here it is. My attempt to be just like everyone else. I seem to be last to get into things these days. This is the first year I have ever watched the "office", but I am watching re-runs on TBS.....so even still I am a few years behind. I got a computer 9 months ago; my first. Now that I have one, I feel hip, but I still find myself using a note pad and paper to create ideas or for song lyrics. I bought a car this year with automatic transmission! Have you ever heard of this amazing addition to driving!!!! This must be a new thing because normally there is three pedals for operating a car...now you only need one to press the gas, and one apply the brake. I as well purchased my first songs...or should I say downloaded my first songs from ITunes. Clearly I have approached 2007 with vigor, desire to progress, and a heartfelt ambition to take on this capitalistic democracy of technology....but I still havent figured out garage band on this darn computer. The last event that has transpired is this; I am a seasons pass holder to a local skiing mountain. I did this partly to regain the strength of my college youth, and partly to begin setting a tempo for 30...the delusional age that haunts many. OK...lets do this.
